This is one of the most memorable parts of Thorp Perrow: a close encounter with raptors, owls, meerkats, pygmy goats and wallabies, all set within the Walled Garden at the north end of the Arboretum.

Summer displays run at 11:30, 13:30 and 15:30. Winter display at 13:30 only.
What to expect
The Centre holds close to 100 birds from all over the world, including eagles, falcons, owls, and a songbird aviary. In our walk-through Mammal Centre, there’s playful meerkats and African pygmy goats to see. The wallabies in the wooded walkway love being hand-fed by visitors too!

Walk-through experience
Collect specialist food from the gift shop, meet the meerkats on Meerkat Island and continue into Wallaby Wood to hand-feed the wallabies.

Useful details
The Bird of Prey & Mammal Centre is in the Walled Garden at the north end of the Arboretum and is approximately a 10-minute walk from the entrance and tearoom.
Dogs are not allowed inside the Bird of Prey & Mammal Centre, but there is an area outside where they can be secured if needed.
Yes. There are toilets, including baby changing facilities and a disabled toilet within the Centre.
